Dit meldt hij tijdens een interview met Emily Chang van Bloomberg Technology. \u2018We kunnen natuurlijk alleen maar speculeren, maar als je het in dollars meet, moet je denken dat het oneindig gaat.\u2019<\/h4>\n<p>Hij verwacht dat bitcoin op korte termijn goud zal inhalen als de opslag van waarde naar keuze:<\/p>\n<p>\u2018Ik denk dat mensen op de korte termijn zien dat bitcoin goud overtreft als een opslag van waarde. Dus weet je, ik denk dat een miljoen dollar (830.000 euro) als prijsdoel binnen tien jaar heel redelijk is.\u2019<\/p>\n<p>Dit komt grotendeels doordat de Verenigde Staten de geldprinter op standje oneindig hebben gezet. Bitcoin heeft veel nieuw geld geabsorbeerd. \u2018Steeds meer mensen bewaren hun waarde liever in bitcoin, in plaats van op de spaarrekening. De rente is niet hoog genoeg om inflatie te goed te doen.\u2019<\/p>\n<p>Daarnaast voorspelt Powell ook dat mensen binnenkort de prijzen in bitcoin gaan meten. Hij gaat zelfs zo ver dat hij denkt dat planeten of zelfs zonnestelsels kunnen worden gekocht met de beste cryptocurrency.<\/p>\n<p>\u2018Er is geen reden om bitcoin te verkopen, steeds meer daytraders beginnen dat ook in te zien.\u2019<\/p>\n<p>De aanleiding van het interview was niet per se om over de prijs van bitcoin te praten. Zijn crypto exchange Kraken wil nieuw kapitaal ophalen waardoor de waarde van Kraken kan stijgen tot 10 miljard dollar.<\/p>\n<p>Powell zegt dat 10 miljard dollar nog laag ingeschat is, zeker omdat hij nu al merkt dat veel private investeerders aandelen willen in Kraken.
